- Regulator

- Full registration with a licence to practise. The GMC's guide for international medical graduates sets the route as an acceptable primary medical qualification, a completed internship, and evidence of knowledge and skills.

- PLAB 1 and PLAB 2 — both parts passed within the past two years
- Or an acceptable postgraduate qualification, in place of PLAB

- IELTS certificate, OET certificate, a primary medical qualification awarded in English, a reference from a current or recent employer, or evidence of a UK job offer. The GMC states that the evidence it accepts is subject to change.

The GMC publishes exact IELTS and OET thresholds in separate chapters of its English language guidance, one per type of evidence. Those numbers are not reproduced here because they have not yet been read off the relevant chapter; follow the English evidence link above before booking a test.
A certificate of good standing is required from every regulator you have been registered with, not only your current one — which for most Indian applicants means the state medical council, and the NMC where applicable.
