Working Abroad
What each country requires from an Indian medical graduate — regulator, examinations, English, credential verification and documents.
Every country here is recorded against the regulator’s own published pages, with the date it was read. Where a page is marked unverified, the links are recorded but the detail has not been checked yet — and the page says so rather than guessing.
Two things are worth knowing before you compare them. Primary source verification of your degree is a separate process from registration and is handled by a different body in most countries — New Zealand routes it through EPIC via MyIntealth, Canada through physiciansapply.ca, the United States through ECFMG itself. And PLAB is accepted by both the United Kingdom and New Zealand, which makes that route worth costing as two destinations rather than one.
| Country | Regulator | Main route | Verified |

| United States | ECFMG | USMLE Step 1 | Sep 2026 |
| Australia | AMC / Medical Board | Standard pathway: AMC MCQ Examination, then the AMC Clinical Examination | Sep 2026 |
| Canada | MCC + province | MCCQE — readiness at the level of a Canadian medical graduate | Sep 2026 |
| New Zealand | MCNZ | NZREX Clinical, or PLAB parts 1 and 2 — passed within the past five years | Sep 2026 |
